Motion capture has always been gatekept by hardware: marker suits, calibrated camera volumes, studio time, and a cleanup pipeline after all of that. The movement itself was never the expensive part. Getting it into a computer was.

Why we built Mocai

The best movement doesn't happen in capture volumes. It happens on courts and stages and sidewalks, filmed on whatever camera was nearby. We started Mocai on a simple bet: modern 3D reconstruction is good enough that the camera you already have should be all the hardware you need. Upload the clip, get the motion.

What we care about

• The subject, not a stand-in. Mocai reconstructs the actual body that moved: its proportions, its mesh, its fingers, not a generic character wearing your motion.
• Honest output. The reel on our homepage is raw, unedited pipeline output. Smoothing is a control you set, not something we hide behind, and the raw keypoints are always preserved untouched.
• Your pipeline, not ours. Takes leave Mocai as FBX, GLB, BVH, USD, and raw keypoints, and drop into Blender, Maya, Unity, or Unreal. Your data is yours, exportable, and deleted on a schedule you can read on the pricing page.
• Self-serve first. No sales call between you and your first take. Upload a clip on the free plan and judge the quality yourself.

The company

Mocai is built by a small team that has spent years in motion capture, computer vision, and real-time 3D. Mocai Inc. is a Delaware corporation based in California. We're deliberately small, self-serve, and product-led: the pipeline is the pitch.
